So in a sense we as consumers are the product. We’re being used as a means to an end. Our needs are met, we want what we want, we want it now, we want it in a certain way. The end is not the end, but its the end. But the end does not have to be the sale. Consumers are the product, and we are the consumer, and when we buy something, we are buying the end.
I don’t know that I have ever met a consumer who wasn’t also a marketer. I mean it’s not like the guy at the cereal box, the car dealership, or the gas station has a product but is just a marketer. They sell the product, but they are selling the end. Its the consumer who is the marketer. And that’s why the name strand marketing is great, because its the consumer who is selling the marketing.
