The company says that the headset will be released in two years. The headset will have three lenses that allow you to look around 360 degrees and interact with characters and objects on the headset. Sony has been quite secretive about their plans for the future of the PS3. I think it will be a long time before they unveil their plans on the PS4.
Hopefully it isnt just me. I like Sony for their plans, but I am also still skeptical of them. Why would you want a device that can run the PS3s engine on to be released by Sony (and not Nintendo, or Microsoft, or Sony-exclusive games like Uncharted, Batman, or The Last of Us)? I think all of those would make this a much harder sell.
I think Sony’s plan is to release a version of the PS3 that runs on the PS4. Sony has said that in the past and will continue to do so. If this is something they are doing, then they are doing it for the right reasons. Sony wants to sell a lot of PS3s, and they want to release this version so that people can buy the PS4 version and then play it on the PS3.
The thing is though, if you haven’t played the PS3 version, it’s a very good example of the kind of content that will be available on the PS4. However, if you’ve played the PS3 version, then it’s a very bad example.
