The problem is with the 1000k drive you will need to send it back to the company and get a new one. But thats a massive inconvenience. Its very easy to just get a new xbox drive and play your xbox games, and thats the last thing you will need.
My advice is to just get a new drive (from a different company) and use it to try out the game, and then just get a new one. You are going to need it.
