The DualShock 4 controller had a shoulder button to use as a trigger. But we found it to take a lot of practice to feel like we could use it. The DualShock 4 controller works perfectly with the PS4 controller, so it’s a mystery why it wouldn’t work with a PS3 controller. We’ll have to wait and see for an answer.
The DualShock 4 controller has a 3.5mm headphone jack that you can use with your PS3, so if your PS3 has a headset, you should be able to play with it on your DualShock 4.
I think its a mystery why the DualShock 4 controller works with the PS3 controller, but the PS4 controller doesnt. I mean, you can use the DualShock 4 controller with the PS3 controller, but you can also use the PS3 controller with the DualShock 4 controller, so its like an extra button you cant access.
I see no reason why the DualShock 4 controller wouldn’t work with the PS3 controller. While the PS3 and DualShock 4 controllers share a hardware interface, there’s no software emulation between them. That means you can’t use either controller with the other, either, but you can use the same controller with either and you can use them together.
Not exactly sure how the dualShock 4 controller works with the DualShock 3 controller, but it sounds like its possible. It would be pretty cool if you could run any game on the DualShock 4 controller from the PS3 version and the DualShock 3 controller for the PS4. To be honest though I’ve never tried it before, so I’ll probably never figure it out. Hopefully someone else doesn’t try it and I’m wrong again.
