Land breezes are a common phenomenon in coastal climates.

But this is not always the case.

A sea breeze circulation will reverse direction and become a land breeze if the wind blows from inland to coastal.

If you live near the coast, how do people feel about a sea breeze becoming a land breeze?

Most people don’t even notice the change in direction of a breeze, but for those who do experience it on occasion, many find a land breeze more pleasant.

Still, others feel an emotional attachment to sea breezes and they are disappointed when these become land breezes.

The difference between coastal air cools faster than inland due to contact with water below.

This leads some people to prefer a cooler climate inland over near the coast because of their preference for air currents from the ocean.

The hottest day will be hotter by about eight degrees Fahrenheit (four Celsius).

If you live away from the coastline as opposed to living close enough that wind is coming off waves or storms moving onto shorelines where winds blow toward your home or office building.
