I’m not the best at writing long posts, so I’m sorry if I don’t come up with a title that has a bit of a hook. I had a few people ask about “sifu not auto downloading” so I thought I’d share that one.
The fact of the matter is that this is a game and you cant just say “auto download.” Most people have to go into the settings menu and manually select “no download.” If you want to play a game without downloading all the way, check out the “no download” setting in the game settings.
sifu is indeed a game. It has a download option that you can select. I used it at first, but it seems to have had too many errors to be of much use to me. The problem is that these errors are often the result of people having accidentally clicked on the wrong button. You can check this by going to my game, and then checking the box next to “Auto Download” and “Download.
In sifu, when you start a game, the game starts downloading the necessary data files for its self-contained game world. I like this because I don’t want to play the game on my computer and then have to install my game on my new phone. Because of this, it’s not a good idea to use the no download setting.
If you’re unsure of which setting to use, check your browser’s settings.

However, the game does auto download its game world, as well as game-related apps, media, and game data. When the new phone ships, I expect it to auto-download these as well. I just got my new phone yesterday and I’m playing a game right now that auto-downloads everything. If you don’t want to play on your phone and you don’t want to install your app on your phone, then you have to manually download everything yourself.
This is a good feature for those who want to avoid download blockers, but it seems stupid because it removes the incentive to check in with a server.
I think it’s a great idea, but I’d rather have the option to get data downloaded to my phone in the first place.
For those who don’t use the android app store, you will have to manually download every file you want to play on your phone. If you don’t, then you will have to start looking for a way to skip the downloads.
