As a teacher, I am always on the lookout for new and exciting news to share with my students. One of the most recent announcements that I read about was when it was announced that Mary Kate, a 10-year-old girl who runs a high school football team on her home town, would be receiving a scholarship to play college football for the University of Texas at Austin.
As someone who has been a teacher for 22 years, I couldn’t help myself. I was so excited to find out about Mary Kate. After all, my daughter is currently playing football for her high school team. I just can’t wait to see her compete against the best high school athletes in the country. I know it is only a matter of time before I see her do it, but I just can’t wait to see the team win.
This is my first year playing college football this fall and I can assure you, the UT team will be very much on the upswing. They have a great coach and a great tradition of success in the state of Texas. They have a chance to make a statement this season, and I’m looking forward to watching them.
