In the news of all news, it has been a few months since Mayor Mike Duggan announced he will no longer run for re-election. While his replacement may be announced in the coming weeks, we would like to take the opportunity to thank him personally and express our sympathy for his loss. We don’t have his exact replacement yet, but we will always be there for him.
At the same time, the city has been rocked by the news that the state of Oregon just passed a law that would ban the sale of guns in gun stores. The Oregon legislature is considering this legislation as a way to discourage gun violence and protect law-abiding citizens from being killed by criminals.
Again, this is an interesting bill, but we’re not sure how it fits in with our current focus on the city of San Francisco. What is clear is that there are a lot of people who feel that the gun laws in Oregon aren’t stringent enough, and that this bill will make them feel safer.
In fact, the bill was amended to include a provision allowing citizens to carry concealed weapons for self-defense if they cannot afford to buy them legally, which is a step in the right direction. However, the fact that the gun bill passed this time around is the result of a lot of pressure from the gun control lobby. A gun purchase ban is a powerful symbol of the political clout of gun owners.
The gun control lobby has been pretty successful in getting people to oppose various gun-related bills. This bill is no exception. When the bill was originally introduced it was signed by the governor, but the gun lobby and some gun owners are upset that he has now changed his mind. It is believed that the governor has now changed his mind because of pressure from the NRA.
I don’t hate the mayor. I only hate the gun lobby. In fact I will say that I would be a lot happier if politicians were more like the NRA.
But the problem isn’t just the gun lobby. The problem is that the mayor is a politician. And politicians are notorious for being opportunistic. They are willing to take positions that they know aren’t best for their own party or the community at large. The mayor is one of the biggest opportunists we’ve seen in a while. As I said, he’s not one of those politicians who seems to change his mind because of the pressure from the gun lobby or the NRA.
In this case, the mayor is no longer a politician. He is a politician who is willing to be the face of the political establishment, with the same political experience and energy that has been available to him since the early days of the new millennium. So it seems like there is no more room for the mayor to be the face of the electorate.
And that is not the end of the story. In fact, this is just the beginning. City manager has a lot of potential for change in the future, but in the meantime, the mayor has become the face of the local government. And as I said, he is willing to be that face. To that end, we are excited to see the mayor get an official title. And, when a major issue arises in the city, the mayor will be the one to solve it.
In a normal city council, you’d have the mayor as the face of the body. But given that we have a mayor of our own, we are happy to see him take the title of city manager.
