In this process, an atom of nitrogen accepts two electrons from hydrogen atoms and then becomes a nitride ion with more negative charge.

The new substance then releases four photons into the air! We can represent this transfer as follows: A + B → A+B+E E-+H→ H+OH− (cite) .

This equation shows that it takes energy for reactions to occur; you need something on both sides before anything happens!

Chemical bonds break and form during these interactions too.
