I’m not the biggest gamer, and I’ve never really played online. However, I’ve found the right two player games to play with my kids for hours on end. A few of my favorites are Cabbage Patch Kids and Mario Kart. I’m also a huge fan of the Nintendo 64, which I have a bunch of games on thanks to my 3DS.
My personal favorite is Mario Kart 64 which has some of the most fun two player races I’ve ever played. It isn’t just about racing though. You can also play mini-games with your kids or friends, go on a quest, or just relax in a park. It’s really worth it for a good two player game.
If that’s your thing you should definitely check out two-player Mario Kart 64. You can’t really go wrong with these games.

The only real problem with the new 2 player mode is that it’s locked into a 30 FPS frame rate. That’s a pretty serious limitation as you can see in the video below.

Now, I have no idea if the FPS is an issue or not, but it sure is a big one, especially when it comes to racing. I don’t know if I’m going to have to resort to a gamepad (which I’m sure some of you have already seen) or if I’ll have to start using my phone to navigate my way around, but if I do I’ll be sure to let you all know how that works out.
I’m not sure if this is a feature/bug or just a limitation that most games need to work around, but 2 player games can be frustrating if you get stuck in a rut. It’s also possible to play 2 player games in single-player mode, but the graphics are severely lacking in high definition.
